The Future of AGOA 2:00
Today 38 or so African countries’ (the actual number fluctuates annually, in line with US Presidential determinations) benefit from the US' African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA). The Act is scheduled to expire this coming September 2015, and despite the Obama Administration’s support, Congress appears to be making a strong push for significant changes that could damage what has been a very successful program providing meaningful economic development and employment opportunities for Africa.
